A Brief Introduction About Palm Oil Products:


Palm oil, derived from the fruits of the oil palm tree (Elaeis Guineensis), is the most widely-used vegetable oil globally, found in about 60% of supermarket packaged products. These trees thrive in equatorial regions with ample sunlight, temperatures between 24-32°C, and consistent rainfall. Malaysia, a global leader in certified sustainable palm oil, promoting market access and raising awareness through the Malaysia Palm Oil Council (MPOC). The palm oil industry is a vital part of the Malaysian economy, contributing 3.1% to the GDP and generating $28.7 billion (RM130.2 billion) in export earnings in 2022. Malaysia accounts for 23% of global palm oil production and 31% of exports, alongside Indonesia.

RPD Palm Olien

RBD palm olein is obtained from fractioning refined palm oil to separate liquid parts (olein) from solid parts (stearin). It is clear yellow liquid at room temperature. RBD palm olein is used as cooking oil as well as frying oil for food industries such as snack food and ready-toeat food.


Soya Bean Oil

Soybean oil is oil produced from the seeds of the soybean plant. Chemicals from soybean oil, called plant sterols, are used for high cholesterol. Soybean oil is also used as a mosquito repellant and as a nutritional supplement in intravenous feedings.


Sunflower Oil

Worldwide, sunflower oil is one of the most widely used oils. The light-yellow oil is mainly used for frying and roasting. In combination with other vegetable oils, such as rapeseed oil, soybean oil or linseed oil, it is also used as salad oil, frying oil or to make margarine.


Corn Oil

Corn oil (North American) or maize oil (British) is oil extracted from the germ of corn (maize). Its main use is in cooking, where its high smoke point makes refined corn oil a valuable frying oil. It is also a key ingredient in some margarines.


Crude Palm Oil

Palm Oil is used for cooking and largely in South East Asia. Besides cooking purposes and food products, Palm Oil and derivatives known as fractions of the oil are used in the manufacture of pre-packaged food, cosmetics, cleaning products, hair care, soaps and personal care items.


Canola Oil

Canola oil is oil made from crushed canola seeds. One of the best oils for heart health, canola oil has less saturated fat than any other oil commonly used in the worldwide. Cutting down on saturated fats helps cut your cholesterol levels.


Coconut Oil

This plant-based oil is used as a cooking fat. It's also a common and effective moisturizing ingredient in lotions and hair care products. As a food ingredient, coconut oil has been marketed as having several health benefits, including helping with weight loss and preventing dementia.


Vegetable Oil

Vegetable oils are extracted from various types of seeds, fruits, nuts, and grains. The most consumed oils are olive, sunflower, palm, canola, coconut, safflower, corn, peanut, cottonseed, palm-kernel, and soybean. In general, vegetable oils are used to cook food and also as crude oil to add flavor.


Olive Oil

Olive oil comes from the olive fruit and contains monounsaturated fatty acids. Fatty acids in olive oil seem to decrease cholesterol levels and have antiinflammatory effects. Olive oil is commonly used in foods. As medicine, people most commonly use olive oil for heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
